Pakistan's top-order batter Haider Ali scored his second fifty for Derbyshire in this year's County championship division two.
While representing Mickey Arthur-coached Derbyshire against Leicestershire, Haider scored 54 runs on day one.
After bowling out Leicestershire for paltry 122 runs, Derbyshire started off strongly with their openers Harry Came and Haider. The two batters provided a solid start to their team, scoring 108 runs on a first-wicket partnership.
Haider was on song with the bat as he scored 54 runs but he couldn't continue for longer. He was trapped leg before wicket off Wiaan Mulder.
In four matches so far, Haider has scored 146 runs at an average of 29.20.
When this story was filed, Derbyshire took one-run lead against the opposition. Harry Came (41*) and Wayne Madsen (13*) were batting for Derbyshire.
It must be noted here that Derbyshire's head coach Arthur is also the team director of the Pakistan team. Last month, he was appointed as the new team director by the current management of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) led by Najam Sethi.
